I sometime wonder what I would have done if I did not have my kids. How did I spend my life before them? I really am amazed at how kids change ones life! To tell you the truth I have learnt a lot from them.
One example would be :
Last week I started the first round of our annual get-sick season. I had a mild cold. I passed it on to my younger one, Nithin. he was fussing around for just a day and then my older one Ashwin got it. For the past 2 years my 11 year old is either too sick or normal. And with that too sick package comes irritability and what not. Friday morning I tried my best to get him going to get his breakfast done so he can have a tylenol to make him feel better. He was whining, crying and slowly I started losing my patience.I raised my voice and told him "You have been applying lotion for the past 15 mins. Why don't you stop that and get your breakfast so you can have the medicine and feel better?" Totally unexpected, Nithin says to me "Calm down mom,hes sick right? " I was so surprised and sad that I was losing my patience to my child who is sick.My 8 year old is correcting me :(
It makes me realize that grownups are not always grown up and kids are not always kids.
